Another week closer...and an adventure awaits...

Well, another week done...another week closer...
Holidays start in 6 days...Oh how I can't wait. Not that I hate work or I want to get away from work, but I want to see Bernard. I can't wait...It is going to be great! One whole week there. I can't wait. It sucks living so far away...especially knowing that we are so close and that we could see each other whenever we want, except that it's not that easy. Work interferes and the time it takes to get to one place or the other is definitely on my side. The countdown for this is now on...
In one month I will be headed out on a little "travel" adventure. Ashlie asked me the other day if I would be interested in going with her to Bratislava in November...sure...why not?! Like Ashlie has said, it will be like Eurotrip. We are going to go see Vienna while there also, because it is not too far. Just for a little weekend trip. It should be a blast. Haven't done too much travel of late...so here is the perfect opportunity.
Anywho, I'm not really in the writing mood so I'm going to stop here. Hope everyone is well. Cheers

Long one...

Still no internet at home....grrr. It’s so annoying. We got the Freebox in the mail yesterday but the service is not ready. These people need to get it together. It’s been over 4 weeks since we ordered it and still nothing.
Well, the week is over and the weekend almost is too. Friday night we went out for Liz’s birthday. We went to O’Bryans and then to the Salle des Coffres again. It wasn’t as busy as last time but it was fun. I can’t believe what goes on in bars here sometimes. When you go in the bar you have to go down a flight of stairs. At the bottom there is the dance floor. So basically there is a chance that everyone looks at you when you walk in. Some people actually dance on the stairs..anyway, at one point during the night there were two guys dancing on the steps. They took their shirts off...then the DJ said something about them so of course we all look. Then he’s saying something else and they take their pants off. OMG. So there are these two dudes standing there in their underwear. One is even wearing tighty whities. So....the DJ says something else and the one guys turns around and moons us....OMG x 100000. Just when I thought they couldn’t go any further, the DJ says something else and guess what the guy pulls out....yea that is right....krazy. I can’t believe that. What kind of bar is this??? Haha.
On a good side of the bar...I saw this girl that I saw in the tram about two weeks ago. She looked so familiar and this time I was determined to ask her if she was from Canada. It turns out she is and I skated with her in Winnipeg in 1999-2000. That is crazy. So wierd.
Yesterday the landlord came over at like 8h30 (morning) and we didn’t get home till about 3. He had some repairs to do here and we had a few things to discuss. Hasn’t been the best landlord I have a had to deal with, and maybe that has something to do with the fact that he is a "French" landlord. Haha. Who knows. Landlords are always out there to save money.
I didn’t get up to too much yesterday, only left the house to go to the grocery store, but I managed to not take a nap. I didn’t want to take a nap because A) I thought I would either sleep all day or B) I would wake up grumpy. So, last night I really didn’t do much. Jenn came over for a bit and we just chilled and watched some TV. Today I haven’t done much. It is nicer out than yesterday. Yesterday it was so gray and dull. Atleast the sun is peaking through today. I am going to go use the internet for a bit and I am going to go round a friends place for a bit. I should try and do a little work though it sucks not having the internet when I want to get some stuff off it. Oh well, soon enough.
I am really enjoying my job here. For me to say that after 5 weeks is pretty good. The students are really nice and they make an effort. It was a huge step up from highschool. And I think that helps me in the world of prepping. I like knowing that they will try in my class and they are friendly etc. I can even say that I enjoy my job enough that I would already consider it a second year, although I doubt that will happen. There are a lot of other factors that will be playing in on what I do with my life next year.
I start holidays in 12 days!!! I will have one week off. These holidays are for Toussaint (All Saints). I will not be going on elaborate trip like I did last year. This year I will be going for a relaxing week at Bernards place. Kind of funny that this year I will actually be GOING to La Chatre for my holidays instead of trying to leave for them. Haha. Quite funny. I am annxious to go and to see Bernard. It has been 2 weeks now since I last saw him, and by the time we see each other it will have been almost 4 weeks. That is quite a long time, though definitely not the 3.5 months we did this summer. I will also get to see a couple other friends, including Remi, which I am really excited about. I miss having him around at the school. Always was great to talk with him. He is such a sweetheart.
After the holidays I will not be working as many hours. I am really going to have to try and find something else to keep me busy....because if I don’t, I know that I will crazy thinking about certain things...or a certain someone. I need to do some work on French, even though I have been told my french is getting really good (Yeah me!). There are just things that sometimes I question and so I need to do some refreshing as well as more written. I feel I have lost it a bit. Maybe I can take more time and start really cooking. We’ll see.
Anyway, I’m going to get going here. I hope everyone is well, wherever you may be. Keep in touch

I know, I know

Well, I know that it has been FOREVER since I have written but A) I don't have the internet at home yet (still) and B)I have been lazy. So where to start....seeing as over a week has gone by, I don't know what I have done. Well, last week I had Thursday afternoon off. Seeing as we had gotten paid the previous week I decided to go out for the afternoon with Becca to the shops....oops!!! Ok, I didn't spend that much, but I am not like I used to be when it comes to shopping (though yes I am still not going to spend 70$ on a pair of jeans). I needed some clothes, especially dress pants seeing as some of mine don't seem to fit me anymore. It seems that I have lost some weight somewhere along the way since the end of May...and usually this would be a good thing for people(and it is for me in a sense, because I was getting a little chubby back there) but my clothes are starting to hang, and this is NOT a good thing.
On Friday I don't really remember what I did....obviously nothing too exciting. I think I started to tidy/organise my room. Saturday I just cleaned the apartment and my room. It was a nice day off and on....that night Jenn had a bunch of us over for some pre-drink and then we went to the club (Salle des Coffres). It was a fun night....the funniest part I think was when we went to the washroom and some chick came up to Becca to tell her that the ass of her pants had split. It was quite funny. We all(3 of us) piled into the toilet to try and fix the damage. It was pretty bad. The seam had split all the way to her crotch. I had a god laugh as we tried to safety pin them together. Late night again....we didn't get there till about 1h15 and left around 3h30. It was fun, though someone burnt me with a cigarette.
Sunday was a beautiful day!!! I had work to do and needed to wash my sheets. So I ended up sitting on the balcony all afternoon enjoying the sun and tried to work (while my stuff was drying). It was a good day.
My classes this week have been going really well, for the most part. That is a great thing. I had yesterday off so I rode around on my bike doing errands. I had to go get my stuff done for my "carte vitale" (health card) and then to pick up forms for housing aid(hope I can get some help) and some other errands. I love being able to ride around on my bike. Tomorrow I have the day off also, maybe I'll go for a more "pleasure" ride opposed to just riding to town and school. We'll see. I have a few things I want to do tomorrow.
I don't have too much planned for this weekend. Friday night we are going out to celebrate Liz's birthday. Saturday I would like to go to Bale (Basel) but they are calling for rain. Not very good. We'll see what happens.
The holidays are getting closer, just over 2 weeks....time seems to be flying by.....and then I will be heading to La Chatre. Should be good!!
I have been doing really good with my money which I'm excited about, even though I have done some shopping. I am trying to save for my ticket for April....it will be all good.
Well, I think that's all for now....wanted to add a photo, but its not working...grrr

Interesting train ride...

Sunday October 1, 2006 16h48
Well, I’m on the train right now on my way home from Bernard’s. Our train is an hour late now due to the fact that someone on the train had a heart attack and died. That really screwed things up for me. (Sounds mean, but it’s true). I will miss my connexion in Paris and have to wait for the next train, which I pray I do not miss. Already I am supposed to get into Mulhouse at 22h40 and now won’t be there till about an hour later at the earliest. I don’t want to pay to take a cab home, the tram is good enough for me provided it is still running at the hour I arrive.
I had a good weekend in La Chatre. I arrived on Thursday night and Bernard picked me up from the station. We didn’t do anything that night as he had to work the next morning. On Friday I went to the high school to see people and join for lunch. I met the new assistant and she seems sweet. We did a bunch of things around town that she needed to do and then we went to Manolas for “gouter” at 16h00, and we brought the cakes from the shop. MMMMM….so good. That night Bernard and I picked up Nicole and we went to the London’s club. The night was pretty good. Stayed out fairly late. I think Nicole enjoyed herself. Saturday was such a lazy day, though I think well needed by both Bernard and I. We went and picked up some food from his parents around lunch and then we decided to watch some Simpsons, though both of us fell asleep. We ended up sleeping for a couple hours. That night we went to his sisters place, and I brought some candies for his nieces. Then we went to some friends of Bernards place as they just moved. We ended up staying there pretty late. It was alright, though not exactly what I would have chose to do that night. Their daughter is super cute. All his friends kids are adorable.
Today we didn’t do much as I needed to get a few things prepped for classes and I had to catch the train. Late as usual though I didn’t miss the train. Next time I am going to be prepared well in advance. Especially leaving Mulhouse. I am very bad at being late(except for classes).
I am in the train and there is this girl that keeps looking at me, maybe because I am on my laptop, I don’t know, but it is annoying.
Only 26 days till the holidays now. YIPEE!!!! I will be going to La Chatre for atleast part of them, though I don’t know what I will do for the second part. I have one week, well 9 days. And then 7 weeks of class till the next set of holidays. Haha….like I’m counting already.
Well, I am going to leave it at this for now, Cheers
